The RIFT

Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a great Friday! It’s been quite a busy week at The Rift and I know Trion’s been quite busy too! Today marks the final day of Official Releases with Europe finally joining the rest of us on live (well, for those who didn’t pre-order)!

I know quite a few of you were disappointed that there was no Podcast last week – but don’t fear! We have a brand new that will be ready for your ears on Monday! This upcoming episode will detail Rift’s headstart and will feature a roundtable discussion with Esloan of HorRIFTic Intentions, Karen Bryan of Massively, Cindy ‘Abigale’ Bowens, and of course Arithion and Desikis!

As well, The Rift is looking to expand! Yes, we’ve been quite dedicated to bringing you weekly (usually!) Podcasts, but with the game finally being release we’ve decided to bring even more to the community!

That’s right! With the increase in our community, there’s quite a bit of work to be done! At the moment, we’re on the lookout for Bloggers! Yes, those who love to write on the interwebs! You’ve already seen Arithion, Kartys, and Shyntyrr writing some things, but there is so much more to cover! If you’re interested in helping out, send us an email to riftpodcast@gmail.com with a bit about yourself and why you want to write and we’ll go from there!

Some other cool announcements that we have this week:

• A little late, but we’d like to welcome Faelor to The Rift’s Team! Faelor will be helping out with our YouTube page, some website stuff, and other random tasks!
• One of our sponsors, TypeFrag, has been generous enough to give us our very own 50-slot Ventrilo server! This server is free to access for everyone, so come say hi! I can’t promise that we’ll always be around, but we’ll try to be there every now and then (Follow us on Twitter and we’ll announce when we’re going to be on for sure!)
• TypeFrag has also launched a new contest to celebrate the launch of Rift! They have released their own free Ventrilo server (feel free to use it!), created a neat little Rift-inspired Ventrilo widget, and are hosting a contest to give away a customized Rift PC (Is that a Fire Rift I see on the case?!)! There isn’t any purchase necessary, so go and enter!
• If you haven’t seen it already, Enjin has released an awesome signature generator! It doesn’t look like there are any watermarks or anything, so go get one! They’ve also recently introduced a Server Status page, character integration, Guild XML import abilities, and support for coloured classes/callings for usernames for their hosting subscribers!
• We’re currently working on a few expansions and minor tweaks to the website in the next couple of weeks. This shouldn’t affect you, but if you seen something out of place let us know!
• Do you have a funny/interesting Rift story? Maybe just a really amazing story that happened in another MMO? Send us your favourite (short!) stories (along with your in-game name, forum name, and server!) and you’ll be entered for a chance to win! (Details to come, we’re still working out some things! Some rules/regulations may apply, if you have questions or concerns, send us an email!)
