The Rift Podcast – an Introduction
by Arithion on Jun.28, 2010, under Blog, Podcast
Well we’ve posted up the first podcast. It’s the introductory podcast and overall? We’re pretty happy with it.
This is the introductory episode of: The Rift -- a podcast all about Trion World’s upcoming AAA MMO release -- Rift: Planes of Telara.
This episode is a run down on the bare basics of the game, as we currently know it, for people who might not know anything about it yet. Remember as Rift is still in pre-alpha stages, a lot of this information may be subject to change before actual release. I really want to stress that, simply because something we tell you in this podcast could change in say 3 more podcasts
we just don’t know. But we’ll do our best to clear up misconceptions, confusion and find out as much as we can about the game.
Although people probably aren’t overly interested we do let you know what Arithion and Desikis are about and where they come from in the gaming world. With two different gaming styles, we hope to be able to be a little more objective and research happy about the information we’re giving out.
Now we were really happy this episode to have an interview with Cindy Bowen, aka Abigale (Sr. Community Manager of Rift). She has been a fantastic person to work with so far, very supportive and encouraging, and we’re truly looking forward to many more podcasts with her. She’s even arranged for Adam Gershowitz to be our next guest -- and we hope to be getting clued into the Class Soul System with him for the next podcast.
Like we’ve said, the knowledge about the game comes mainly from the main website and E3 videos -- and as promised we’re linking you to some. These are a must see (and there are more of course), for anyone interested in the game.
Lorehound Interview/Demo
Asha End of E3 Demo
No, these aren’t the only videos out there, but these are a few of our favorites.
With its dynamic content plans, and the unique twist to their class system -- we’re both truly looking forward to what this game will bring us when it’s finished.
Hope you enjoy the podcast ![]()

I look forward to your more about Rift. I like the structure of your podcast. I can’t stand when they are too structured. I run a MMO Podcast myself. Right now I am looking at Rift, Final Fantasy 14 and Guild Wars 2. I am excited about all 3 of them and only time will tell which one will win me over. I am interested in hearing more about the class and soul system. Keep it up, looking forward to next cast!
