Episode 3 – Jives, Cio, Abi and Fansites
by Arithion on Jul.12, 2010, under Blog, Podcast
This last week has been rather quiet on the information release front. MMORPG has a great piece of Lore on Asha Catari HERE. On Friday’s Dev IRC Chat Abi answered as many game playability related questions as she could without getting into trouble. For a good read go to Telara Central. Note the information has also been wikified at – yep, you guessed it: Telarapedia.
As usual, in a quiet week, there has been a lot of room for conjecture. If it’s possible, which it always is – people will find it – and sometimes even flog that dead horse. Still, some of it is entertaining and interest in any aspect of Rift: Planes of Telara lets us know in the end – it will be worth the wait.
We hope everyone likes the new site, and I neglected to thank Faelor and Goremarr for their invaluable help, but I’ll remember next week. Thank you so much guys.
For Episode three:
We wanted to do something a little different. So we set about to invite three people (very interesting Skype convo, that one
), to come and chat with us about the community as it was when Heroe’s of Telara was revealed as opposed to now, after the Rift: Planes of Telara reveal back on April 26th 2010.
Jives – a junior community manager, who has been with the project since it was known by its former name joins us. As does Ciovala – the fan responsible for the long standing Telarapedia (June 2009) and the newly founded Rift Nexus – a Rift community hub (June 2010).
They talk to us about how they came to take part in the community in the very different roles they play, as well as how positively they believe the changes to Rift: Planes of Telara have been for the overall community.
And of course, because we all love her, then we pick on Abigale. Secretly we think she likes it.
Abi shares some great news with us about the Official FanSite Program:
- What qualifies a Site as an Official Fansite?
- The perks and support that an Official Fansite can expect
- And of course what to, and what not to do.
She will post information up about this shortly after the podcast goes live. Official FanSite Info. We’re so happy she came to talk to us about it, and hope everyone is as excited by the prospect as we are.
Don’t forget to visit the FanSites listed in the bar to the right.

We’d like to take this moment to remind everyone we do, sadly, not live in California – and therefore have to use Skype to communicate. The program used to record the conversations is nicely versatile, but can sadly not make up for glitches in the Skype programme itself. And sometimes we run out of time, because like everything else, these interviews have to be scheduled. Please keep this in mind.
So, next week our guest is: Larry Boles – a content designer who works on the rifts themselves. We’re very excited to have him with us and have some great questions lined up for him.
We do realise it’s hard to hold onto a game whose release is so far in the future, and whose release schedule gives us tantalizing hints that have us gasping for more. We only hope we can help a little bit in making the wait easier.
Hope you enjoy the 3rd Podcast
