The RIFT

In the tenth podcast we talk to Ciovala of Rift Nexus/Telarapedia, and Kal of the Rift Calculator about their mmo history, expectations and what they think of Rift when taking everything from their past mmo experiences into account.

They also take us briefly through some pet peeves, what their favourite race would be, and is. Not to mention they talk about which calling type they’re likely to choose from their brief stint playing the game at gamescom.

And lastly, they explain a bit about their dungeon exploring experience.

In light of a week full of news emitting mainly from the fans who attended Gamescom, it’s great to have a more indepth discussion of certain aspects from two of the attendees.

Oh, and according to Abigale, the news about BETA starting in September is a MYTH.

Ciovala has a lot of information over at the Rift Nexus. They cover pretty much all of the following either in written or video form, and sometimes both.

• Character Creation
• Shadowlands and a couple of the earlier level areas
• User Interface
• Soul System
• Death (souls walking)
• Achievements
• Professions (Heavy/Light weapon and armor smithing, runecrafting etc)
• Mounts (no different colors or faction restrictions yet)
• Instances
• Soul Trees – Warlock, Reaver, Purifier, Inquisitor, and the Ranger

She writes about it all in as much detail as she could from a couple of days playtime. These are great reads and watches. It also brings up the limited character creation and we truly hope Trion mean it when they say there will be improvements.

Don’t forget to pop over to Telara Centra and check out the IRC for last Friday the 27th. Abi answered a heap of questions for the community – some of them random but interesting nevertheless.

And of course, very importantly on Friday 27th Trion Press also released lore and information on the Fire Rifts via MMORPG! It’s a great read and we know Ari for one hides her inner pyromaniac – these are the ones she’s really wanting to experience when we finally get to play.

Please remember that due to the huge amount of information currently being released, and PAX coming up at the end of this week – we won’t be putting out a podcast on Monday 6^th September. The 11^th podcast will either be out Thursday 9^th OR Monday 13^th – we just have to see what we can get organized. But it will be a big and information condensed episode. We’ll keep people updated as to the next episode’s release date.
