by Arithion on Jan.17, 2011, under Podcast
BloodPact officer Apatheus, and members Rival and Vekna join us to discuss RIFT pvp. Cindy ‘Abigale’ Bowens stops by to take notes on the feedback and we announce a guild contest!
We talk about the good and the bad of:
- PvP Warfronts
- OpenWorld PvP
- Soul versatility, PvP and the game
- And More!
Contest information and fansite link reciprocation after the cut
Our Guild Contest – more information and exact rules to come soon.
Guild Screenshot Album Contest
We want you and your guild to make a screenshot album for us. 7 screenshots are required. Each guild can come up with their own theme. Six of the screenshots must be from different members of the guild, depicting at least 3 or more guild tags. And one of the screenshots must be of the Entire Guild as a group (or close to as many as you have in beta – like a huge family photo)
In the chat box, in guild chat, you must have the following visible in the screenshot: Hi RiftPodcast, Beta 5! (If you are wanting the screenshots to have no UI – then enable speech bubbles or send us the same screenshot with and without the UI so we can see the required message)
Now why would you do this? Because we have some great prizes.
Enjin guild hosting is currently working on a whole set of RIFT features to be implemented very soon, and have an amazingly versatile user interface. There are already several RIFT related sites. And so – Enjin have been kind enough to sponsor this podcast contest.
1st Prize: Ultimate Guild Hosting Package for 12 months, including a 25 person mumble server, as first prize.
Runner Up: A premium Guild Hosting Pacakge for 12 months.
If you’re unsure about what they do, or don’t want to take our word for the quality guild site service they provide – go and take a look at Enjin Epic RIFT Guild Hosting.
The competition will start with beta 5 on January 25th, and all entries have to be in by 12midnight cst January 31st. We will announce the winners in the podcast on February 6th. Stay tuned next podcast on January 24th for the rest of the details and the complete rule write up – and we may be adding an individual competition depending on whether or not we can get a few things sorted out.

good job loved it

Great show but could have gone a little deeper into world Pv, specially due to the thread that have been going on the forums on this subject. City invasions are not invasions if they end after a few mins and lead to nothing.

Great job as always, really liked the discussion of PvP as it is something I have not really experienced in the beta yet, keep up the good work

Thanks for that. Some days getting up and putting the podcast out at 5am is just too early for my brain. Sorry for any inconvenience

Nerves + excitement = verbal diarrhoea (sorry for the extra work editting!).
Thanks again for the invites – was a real pleasure to meet both you and Cindy and a lot of fun nattering away.

I currently use engine, and have a lot of time payed off on the big package, and I really like it. They actually respond to support tickets, and mumble is awesome!

This podcast makes me want to play. Seriously.

Dumb question, but this was all going down on a PvP server? Or not? I’m not exactly sure what the differences are between PvE and PvP servers; I know I’ve seen the other side poking around our outposts and villages, and attacking NPCs and flagged players, on a PvE server.

This was a wonderful and very informative podcast, even with the handicap of no current beta event. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to your next podcast.

We’re on Lotham, Vurjin (well Ari is, I have an epic level 6) not yet sure what type we’ll role on come launch. I would prefer a pvp one but as I am not currently bound to a guild I’ll probably role on the same as Ari’s and just run around like an escaped mental patient. Which is fun!
January 23rd, 2011 on 9:54 am
lol so you going defiant for sure?
I dont know whether i want to join you, or go against you just so i can here you rage about me on the podcast.
January 23rd, 2011 on 3:20 pm
Haha! Suite yourself no milk and cookies for you in the pre warfront parties! And I make epic cookies… I’ll have you know.
Have fun either way you choose come launch!

you do put up a good arguement.
